The Undertaker retired after WrestleMania 36, where he wrestled AJ Styles in a Boneyard match. Two years later, after the pandemic had worn off, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

While plenty of industry veterans and fans believe the legendary superstar can lace up a pair of boots and hang in the ring for one more match if he wants to, The Phenom has respected the decision he made four years ago. However, there is one athlete from the current lot he wishes to step into the ring with: Gunther.

Speaking on Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Undertaker discussed Gunther. As usual, he is all praise for the World Heavyweight Champion. When co-host Matt Lyda started naming retired wrestlers he wished to see The Ring General face, The Deadman named himself:

"I’d love to see him [Gunther] wrestle Undertaker, that’s who I would have loved to have seen him wrestle. I told him that the other day, it's been a few weeks now. When I saw him in Austin [TX], I was like, 'Man, I would have drawn a lot of money with you.' He was very gracious. He was like, 'Thank you.' He thanked me. I told him, 'You’re my guy.' He goes, 'I hear you’ve said really nice things about me.' I said, 'Yeah, don’t screw it up,' [laughs]." [From 47:51 to 48:34]

In the same podcast, the Hall of Famer also discussed the dream match between Gunther and Brock Lesnar. He admitted that it is a bout he hopes to see in the future.

Former WWE referee Mike Chioda believes The Undertaker has one more match in him

Earlier this year, Mike Chioda discussed about The Undertaker on his podcast, Monday Mailbag. He is confident that The Phenom can wrestle because of the latter's recent successful surgeries.

He also feels at this stage, Undertaker does not need to put over anybody. Therefore, the winner of whatever match the Hall of Famer competes should not be in question:

"Taker looks in great shape. I know he's had some surgeries done. I think they were successful and the hip replacement and all that and so forth. I think he's got one more match in him, but please make him go over. Don't do the match unless you're going over Deadman. F**k building anybody else up. Let them work on their own building themselves up. I hope he does do one more match. I could see him doing one more match," Mike Chioda said.

Last year, The Undertaker appeared on an episode of WWE NXT, where he worked with young talents such as Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes. Ahead of SummerSlam 2024, Breakker laid down a challenge to The Phenom.
