CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will finally square off at WWE SummerSlam after feuding for several months. Meanwhile, former WWE host Matt Camp believes Special Guest Referee Seth Rollins will play a deciding role in the anticipated match.
Last Monday on RAW, The Best in The World revealed that he has been cleared to compete after being injured for nearly seven months. While he called out Drew McIntyre to the ring, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce appeared to announce that the two superstars will lock horns at SummerSlam, with The Visionary being the special guest referee.
Speaking on his The Wrestling Matt podcast, former RAW Talk host Matt Camp suggested that Rollins would cost Punk the match. Camp claimed the match's finish was "obvious," with The Visionary unintentionally causing The Best in The World to lose, pointing out that The Scottish Warrior has to go over in the first match since he is the heel in the storyline.
"Seth cost Punk, doesn't mean to [but] he does. Drew gets the win. The heel should win the first one. It's typically how it goes. If you're gonna do more than one, the heel wins the first one. Drew is 'technically' the heel. And you can spin that off, you know. We don't go right back to Punk and Drew. Maybe there's a Punk-Seth match in there first. Maybe there's a Triple Threat Match in there first. Maybe Bad Blood gets us back to Drew and Punk. That's a possibility," he said. [41:05-41:37]

CM Punk might reject the idea of losing clean to Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, according to ex-WWE employee
While discussing the much-awaited match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre during a recent episode of his Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci pointed out that the encounter could end in several ways. However, he wondered if The Straight Edge Superstar would reject losing clean to The Scottish Warrior.
Carlucci claimed that the 45-year-old might refuse to lose clean to Drew McIntyre even if Chief Content Officer Triple H asked the former AEW star to do it personally.
"I'm not sure Punk would like to lose clean. You know what I mean? That's his attitude and his personality, too. If creative really, if Triple H really says, 'Hey, you gotta do this for Drew and help him out.' I'm not sure if he's gonna take the one-two-three. I'm not sure. I don't know if he would wanna lose clean. I don't know that; I just know from the past and him and his problems with Creative and stuff like that. So, maybe he's a changed man like everybody says he is. So, we all gotta see what happens," he said.
With Seth Rollins being the Special Guest Referee, many believe he will be a deciding factor in Punk vs. McIntyre at SummerSlam. Considering his history with both WWE Superstars, it will be interesting to see what role The Visionary plays at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
