While WWE Bad Blood marked the end of the massive feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, the show teased a mega-rivalry for the future. Gunther took a shot at WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, teasing a massive match between both men.

A few weeks ago on RAW, while addressing Bret Hart, Gunther said that his childhood hero was Goldberg. To justify his words, the World Heavyweight Champion called out the Hall of Famer at Bad Blood and called him a 'One-trick pony.' Eventually, the veteran got furious, trying to get face-to-face with the champion before security diffused the situation. Since then, fans have been anticipating a match between the two.

However, Jim Cornette feels different. In a recent episode of Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, the veteran addressed the possible match and said that the possible outcomes might force WWE to drop the idea. He stated that Gunther might not take a loss at this stage, and given fans think this would be Goldberg’s last match, him taking a loss seems unlikely as well.

"I don't honestly think they're going to do Goldberg versus Gunther as a match because they wouldn't put Goldberg over, and it would probably be a bummer if he didn't win because people would know it'd probably be his last match. But they're not going to put Goldberg over Gunther at this stage of the game because that would be ridiculous," he stated [5:37 onwards]

Gunther set to face Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel 2024

Triple H announced a new Crown Jewel Championship at Bad Blood. Men and Women World Champions from both brands will face each other to determine the inaugural champions.

Gunther defeated Sami Zayn on this week’s RAW to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. Following the match, The Ring General came face-to-face with the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, and both are now set to lock horns on November 2 to determine the Crown Jewel Champion.

There is much anticipation for a match between The American Nightmare and Gunther. Only time will tell what happens on November 2 at Crown Jewel.
