Gunther's reign as Intercontinental Champion is so good that there is a section of the fanbase that views him as the default babyface at this point, despite his heelish antics on WWE TV. The Austrian is also a front-runner for a Royal Rumble win next year.
On account of that, many believe Gunther should drop his belt soon as we head into the Road to WrestleMania in a few months.
The Ring General may have the longest reign with the second oldest belt in WWE history, but The Miz has held the title for a record eight times. The A-Lister is only one win away from tying with AEW star Chris Jericho's all-time record.
Plenty of the viewers who watched RAW this past Monday Night are convinced that if done right, The Miz winning the Intercontinental Championship from Gunther could be generational. Moreover, it could very well cement the veteran's babyface turn, which is rumored and was even subtly teased during the promo.

The Miz has not held a championship in WWE since 2021 when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract in February on Drew McIntyre to win the top prize of the company for a second time. His reign was cut short in a matter of eight days, however, by Bobby Lashley.
The Miz does not remember much from the most memorable moment in his WWE career
The veteran recently did an interview for Unbreakable, during which he spoke extensively about his rivalry and WrestleMania main event against John Cena for the WWE Championship.
The A-Lister claimed that while he is proud of the match, per se, the concussion he suffered during the bout makes it impossible for him to recall the surreal moment.
"That's one of the most memorable moments I've ever had. Unfortunately, I don't actually remember it," he said. "The one moment you want to remember for the rest of your life is the one moment I have bits and pieces that I remember, but I don't remember if that makes any sense at all," The Miz stated.
He further disclosed that he apologized to those in Gorilla Position following the contest, convinced that he messed it up. However, the contest was well-received backstage.
The Miz will receive the opportunity to face Gunther if he can get past three former champions next week on RAW.
