Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have become public enemies in WWE after they recently betrayed Big E on RAW. However, a 79-year-old wrestling legend has sided with Kingston and Woods based on their logic.

In the latest episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, host Mac Davis asked wrestling legend Bill Apter and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long about their thoughts on The New Day's 10th anniversary segment on December 2. The segment saw Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods kick Big E out of The New Day. The duo slammed him for "leaving them" despite his potentially career-ending injury.

The 79-year-old Bill Apter spoke about the logic that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods used and sided with them despite the heat they've gotten since the betrayal.

"When we talk about Big E, they kept telling him, 'Go back to your desk job;' they were probably talking about his role as a broadcaster. But they had a really strong thing. 'If you really cared about us, where were you all these weeks? We see you on other WWE shows talking happily and all that, but you never came to us.' And I thought, 'You know what? They're right!'" Apter said. [6:38-7:02]

Reported reason why WWE didn't add any injury time to Big E's contract despite a nearly 3-year hiatus

It's not uncommon for wrestling companies to add time to a performer's contract due to an extensive injury spell. It's likely done to protect their investment, but it's not something that fans think highly of, especially considering the recent issues between Rey Fenix and Tony Khan in AEW.

But that doesn't seem to be the case for former WWE Champion Big E. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the Stamford-based company didn't believe that the 38-year-old would be medically cleared. Hence, no injury time has allegedly been added to his contract. The promotion has still been paying the former New Day member for his various backstage roles.

This was probably why Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston remarked that their former stablemate needed to get back to his "desk job."
