Legendary wrestler Rob Van Dam recently expressed his gratitude to former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Batista for coming to his aid financially. The Animal established himself as a ruthless force inside the squared circle during the mid-2000s. However, the Hollywood star also earned the respect of his peers through his benevolent acts.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Rob Van Dam went into detail about Batista's generosity when asked about his relationship with the former Evolution member.
The ECW legend revealed how Batista's generous donation helped him cover the opening costs of his store. The former WWE Superstar added that he needed money to set up shop before he could move onto the logistical side of things, and Batista was one of the few initial ones who helped him out.
"He [Batista] donated his money to us. This was a lot more money, and it really helped my store. I was just opening up. It was pretty new still. I always needed money at the start; I never made money. For opening costs and s**t. I think he was one of our first six—I really can't remember when chronologically he was there, but I always remember that he was super cool to have done that, and of course I did 'Wrong Side of Town' with him," he said. Batista was set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame
In 2020, the Stamford-based promotion announced that The Animal would be officially inducted into the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame ahead of WrestleMania 36.
However, due to the unprecedented breakout of COVID-19, the ceremony was delayed by a year. The 2005 Royal Rumble winner couldn't participate in the 2021 Hall of Fame ceremony due to prior commitments.
The former WWE Superstar recently revealed that he was set to be inducted into the iconic club in 2023. However, a film commitment in South Africa postponed his induction again.
It will be interesting to see if Batista gets inducted into the Hall of Fame in the future.
