WWE Superstar Austin Theory recently recalled his confrontation with The Rock. The 26-year-old claimed he was the reason why The Final Boss returned to the company despite the latter revealing that he initially came back to face his cousin, Roman Reigns.

In September 2023, The Great One confronted the former Money in the Bank winner on SmackDown. They had a heated verbal altercation before engaging in a physical brawl. However, the segment ended with The Rock delivering a People's Elbow to Theory before encouraging Pat McAfee to do the same.

In an interview with Going Ringside, Theory and his tag team partner, Grayson Waller, commented on his face-off with The Final Boss.

"I'm the reason why Dwayne [Johnson] is where he's at now,'' Theory said. ''Yeah, it was really nice that you helped him out, man. He [The Rock] was struggling!" Waller commented. "He was struggling, and then when I was in Denver, you know, you know Pat McAfee? [I do know Pat McAfee.] Yeah, I put him in his place, and guess who tried to save him? The Rock. And I put The Rock in his place, and he got his feelings hurt, and he wanted to get a little physical, and he still hasn't said anything after that," Theory added.

When Waller claimed The Rock returned to WWE after seeing how good Theory was, the 26-year-old agreed, stating that he was the reason for the WWE legend's comeback.

Austin Theory challenged The Rock to confront him on WWE SmackDown

In another interview with The Babyfaces podcast, Austin Theory challenged The Rock to confront him on the June 7th episode of SmackDown in Louisville, Kentucky. The WWE Superstar claimed he still had a chip on his shoulders since their confrontation last year.

"Well, I'll tell you what; I have unfinished business with The Rock, you know. My tag team partner, Grayson Waller, you know, puts his arm around me, and he tries to tell me, 'Hey, big Dwayne is our boss now!' But he's not my boss, all right? He might be The Final Boss, but he's finally gonna get his a** kicked by Austin Theory. It's gonna happen. I haven't forgotten what happened, you know," he said.

The Rock last competed at WWE WrestleMania XL, where he and Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night One. While he is now on a break to film a new movie, it would be interesting to see if The People's Champion responds to Austin Theory's comments.
