The September 10, 2024, episode of WWE NXT saw the surprising and unexpected return of a 27-year-old wrestler from Japan. Following eight big matches there, the star barged into this week’s show and decided the outcome of a major title match in a flash. The man in question is none other than Tavion Heights.

Charlie Dempsey was facing Je’Von Evans for the NXT Heritage Cup. The No Quarter Catch Crew member was forced to defend his title because Wren Sinclair handed a title shot to Evans just to impress him previously on NXT. However, the high-flying WWE star failed to beat Dempsey because of a quick interference from Tavion Heights.

The returning star planted Evans with a slam at ringside while the referee was distracted and rolled him inside the ring. Thus, Charlie Dempsey picked up an easy win and saved himself from losing the Heritage Cup once again.

While Je’Von Evans had Cedric Alexander on his side, he couldn’t prevent Tavion Heights from interfering with this surprise attack. With this, Evans now has another loss due to interference. He already has an NXT Championship title shot loss and a Heritage Cup title shot on his record as well due to outside interference.

Interestingly, while Evans will be coping with his loss, Heights replied to WWE’s tweet showcasing a video of his interference on X and declared that he is back. It would be interesting to see what’s next for the returning star.
