A top WWE Superstar got his first pinfall win in a premium live event well over five years or 1595 days at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. The unfortunate streak finally came to a crashing halt and not only that, it led straight to a championship victory.
One of the marquee matches of Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 was from SmackDown, with LA Knight defending his United States Championship against the multi-time champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura made a shocking return to WWE on the blue brand recently and has gotten the better of the Megastar on the few occasions they met. This culminated with the black mist on Knight's face.
After Shinsuke Nakamura defeated LA Knight with relative ease at Survivor Series: WarGames, it marked his first pinfall win in a premium live event since July 2020 when he teamed up with Cesaro at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules to defeat The New Day.
That's 1595 days of no pinfall victories at a PLE, longer than Roman Reigns' run as the Universal Champion.
Many fans seem to be happy about the Japanese star's title win and his third reign as United States Champion, but the fact that he hasn't pinned anyone in that long is a crazy statistic.
The last time he pinned someone at a PLE was when there were no fans around and it was in the midst of the pandemic and his partnership with Cesaro has largely also been forgotten.
Hopefully, this will be a good reign for the King of Strong Style.
