Triple H was forced to retire from WWE thanks to a health issue surrounding his heart. He had to end his career and step away from wrestling once and for all. Now, he's spoken about what was supposed to happen before he retired and about never being able to wrestle again.
The Game appeared on the Roommates Show podcast and discussed retiring. Triple H revealed that Vince McMahon had approached him to wrestle at WrestleMania that year, but he was reluctant.
He ended up not being able to work it for his health issues with his heart that cropped up anyway. He also updated on his health issue, saying he was much better now.
"I was sort of at a point in my career, a few years ago, I had a health issue with my heart, which is all good now... but when it happened, I was kinda already at a place in my career where ironically they had come to me to wrestle that year in WrestleMania. Like, 'Hey, it's two nights, it's Dallas, I need you to wrestle.' I told Vince I don't want to do it. He told me, 'I need you to do it. It can be anybody; I don't care. You tell me who you want to work with, and we'll make the story. It will be great.'" (21:40 - 22:17)

Triple H said he did not feel it was time for him to wrestle and was at peace with stepping away. He thought that he had gotten old enough that he would not be able to deliver, and on top of that, The CCO was busy with his work behind the scenes. He said that when the health thing hit, and he found out he would not be able to wrestle again in WWE, it didn't bother him that much. He didn't feel the need to wrestle anymore.
"When my health thing hit, and you know, I knew 'Okay, I can never do this again,' it didn't really bother me that much because I was already on the other side of it." (22:46 - 22:57)
Triple H said that he enjoys his career even more now
Triple H said that he was enjoying his career even more now than before when he was wrestling. He noted that it was like watching his kids wrestle and achieve success.
The legend is happy in his new role and seems to have adapted to it. He is focused on training the next generation.
Fans will have to be content with his few appearances for announcements during shows on WWE RAW and SmackDown.
