Triple H will oversee his third WrestleMania as WWE's creative figurehead when the event takes place in Las Vegas on April 19-20, 2025. Former WCW executive Eric Bischoff expects The Game to book Bill Goldberg in an "entertaining" storyline ahead of the two-night extravaganza.

Goldberg recently announced he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025. The former WCW star appeared in a segment with Gunther at Bad Blood on October 5, fueling rumors about a match between the two.

On his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff predicted Goldberg would step away from the ring after a blockbuster bout with Gunther at The Show of Shows:

"I hope Bill gets that opportunity. I think with Triple H and the team in place at the helm, it'll probably turn out to be pretty good, pretty entertaining. It sounds exciting. It sounds like a fun thing to be a part of WrestleMania. We'll see." [40:59 – 41:21]

In the late 1990s, Goldberg made his name in WCW during Bischoff's tenure in charge of the company. The 2018 WWE Hall of Famer famously built up a 173-match undefeated streak before losing to Kevin Nash at Starrcade 1998.

Why Eric Bischoff thinks Goldberg vs. Gunther makes sense for WWE

The Bad Blood segment ended with Goldberg saying his "you're next!" catchphrase to Gunther after the World Heavyweight Champion made derogatory remarks about his parenting.

With the Bad Blood confrontation in mind, Eric Bischoff thinks WWE's higher-ups have been planning a Goldberg vs. Gunther WrestleMania match for several months:

"Bill's also been known to step out over his skis a couple of times in interviews. Maybe he's kinda forcing the issue and planting seeds, like with a Jackhammer, planting seeds. In that set-up between him and Gunther, that was a little too well executed to not be something that at least had been in discussions, so I expect to see it." [41:22 – 41:45]

Goldberg has not wrestled since February 19, 2022, when he lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber.
