A former WWE writer recently discussed his thoughts on the Triple H-led creative team's booking of Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. The former writer in question is Freddie Prinze Jr.
Cody Rhodes is currently in a heated feud with Kevin Owens. During an episode of SmackDown ahead of Survivor Series, Rhodes and Owens went into a war of words, where The American Nightmare challenged his opponent to a fight.
After KO agreed to the proposal, many fans thought the company might book a match between the two at Survivor Series: WarGames. However, that did not happen and it was later revealed that the two arch-rivals will face each other at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, 2024.
During a recent edition of the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, the former WWE writer said that he believed the Triple H-led creative team made a big mistake as the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes should always be on the card for the company's biggest events.
Freddie Prinze Jr. then compared The American Nightmare's current stature to John Cena, mentioning that WWE always booked the 16-time World Champion on all of their premium live events.
"I feel like I kinda missed it. I think he [Cody Rhodes] should always have a match at the pay-per-view. The champ should always be representing the brand, right? Am I wrong? I don't know maybe I'm wrong. I personally missed Cody Rhodes... I feel like in the John Cena era, there was not a pay-per-view that John Cena wasn't on. I can't think of one off the top of my head," he said. [From 38:13 to 38:55]

Bill Apter believes Cody Rhodes should drop the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens
During an edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKrpited, Bill Apter said that he believed Kevin Owens should take the Undisputed WWE Championship off of Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, 2024.
Apter also mentioned that the two should go at it once again on the following Saturday Night's Main Event scheduled for January 2025.
"What I would like to see, no knock to Cody, but Saturday Night's Main Event, they are gonna do another one in January. Kevin Owens is a such a great maniac. He should take the title at Saturday Night's Main Event. The rematch is the following Saturday Night's Main Event."
It will be interesting to see who will come out on top between the two on December 14th.
