Several superstars have departed WWE over the past few months. A wrestling veteran believes Chief Content Officer Triple H should let one more superstar go after failing to get over for two years.
The superstar in question is Dakota Kai. After spending nearly seven years in NXT, the 36-year-old was released from her contract in April 2022. However, she returned a few months later as a member of Damage CTRL. On the Keepin' It 100 podcast, wrestling veteran Konnan addressed whether Triple H was burying the two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.
The WCW legend claimed Kai is not entertaining despite probably being liked backstage due to being professional. Meanwhile, he questioned why she was even still in WWE:
"She's been there two years and for the whole two years I've been very vocal about her. She doesn't fit in, she's not entertaining, she hasn't done anything to capture my attention, she even did a thing where she turned on Bayley that never went anywhere. I just think she's one of these girls that maybe they like her backstage because she's professional, she's on time, she's friendly, all that ****. But I don't give a **** about any of that. You know, if you're not entertaining then why are you even there, you know? I just don't, I see nothing in her," he said.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Konnan added that the company should not wait for her to become entertaining after she failed to be for two years:
"I'm not waiting to see if it gets over like Otis and Gable. I've been waiting for two years and I've seen nothing. (...) She's not entertaining. How many more years do I need to wait for her to become entertaining?" [2:15 - 3:01]
Dakota Kai recently demanded a singles opportunity in WWE
Since her comeback to WWE two years ago, Dakota Kai has been part of a faction. However, she is seemingly eager to get an opportunity as a singles competitor on the main roster.
On her Twitch stream, the 36-year-old got emotional as she begged for a chance, pointing out that she had never had an opportunity as a singles competitor at a premium live event:
"I've never had an opportunity as a singles competitor on a PLE. I'm not talking about NXT. You know what I mean... I'm getting like, ugh. You know that feeling where you're like [bangs the desk], 'Give me an opportunity, please, anything.' I'm crying. I'm crying because I'm so emotional about this. No, it's my allergies. I'm not actually crying. But seriously, come on now, get behind me, bro," Kai said.
Last Monday on RAW, Kai and her Damage CTRL teammates, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane, defeated Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, and Lyra Valkyria in a six-woman tag team match. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the New Zealand-born superstar.
