Triple H has been in WWE for over two decades. However, a former head writer recently claimed two former Vince McMahon associates wanted The Game fired. One of these men currently works closely with the 14-time World Champion.

At the beginning of his WWE career, Triple H played the Connecticut Blueblood Hunter Hearst Helmsley character. In May 1996, Triple H participated in the "Curtain Call" incident, in which he and Shawn Michaels broke kayfabe to embrace Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in the middle of the ring before they left for WCW, which resulted in him receiving legitimate heat backstage.

Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, former head writer Vince Russo disclosed that Bruce Prichard and Jim Cornette wanted Triple H fired around that time. Prichard is currently a close associate of the current Chief Content Officer.

"I hated the Blue Blood gimmick. I hated Hunter Hearst Helmsley. I hated all that cr*p. I was a fan of the human being. So, bro, when everybody was against him and Bruce and Cornette wanted him fired, I was... There was a time, bro, when I was kinda like the only friend he had in management because of that Madison Square Garden thing, bro. Those guys went, Cornette, Bruce, those guys went ballistic over that, bro," he said. [From 43:13 - 43:43]

Vince Russo claims Bruce Prichard is Vince McMahon's "informant" in WWE

During a recent appearance on the Wrestling with the Devil podcast, Vince Russo questioned why Bruce Prichard did not leave WWE following the departure of Vince McMahon, despite his loyalty to the former chairman.

The 63-year-old veteran claimed Prichard has been an "informant" for McMahon inside the Stamford-based company.

"Here's the part that puzzles me. With Vince no longer a part of that company, would you not have thought loyal soldier Bruce Prichard would have been the first one to say, 'You know, Endeavor, I don't wanna have anything to do with your company. I am a Vince McMahon guy. That's why there's a part of me like for Bruce to not do that and to still have a job there is the reason he still has a job there is because to this day he is Vince's informant and still letting Vince know everything that's going on in that company," Russo said.

Former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci had predicted that Prichard could succeed Triple H as the Chief Content Officer if the latter left the company.
