WWE RAW ended this week with an exclamation point in the form of a Drew McIntyre return. He was not expected back so soon, but then it happened, and he easily fits into the story revolving around The OG Bloodline.

While it is unclear which direction the company takes with McIntyre on the Road To WrestleMania 41, the fact of the matter is that the Scot was dying to step back in the ring, according to WWE CCO Triple H.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, The Game revealed that Drew McIntyre was not injured despite needing 16 staples following his gruesome Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk at Bad Blood in October. But then they waited for the right moment to utilize a star of his stature. H further noted that they can afford to do that today because the roster is deep:

"He was dying to come back," Triple H said. "He wasn't hurt, he wasn't injured. Let's just give you a little breather here for a second. And whether that's spending some time at home enjoying your family, whatever that is, or whether that's, hey, I have this other project I wanna work on. I have this project that Netflix has come up with, I'm gonna work on that. Whatever. Us having that ability to morph and shift things around and keep things fresh, I think is a tremendous opportunity for us."

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

The Scottish Warrior hit Sami Zayn with a Claymore in the cliffhanger ending of WWE RAW this week. It is believed that he is the one who attacked Jey Uso backstage, too, although that was not confirmed.

Should Drew McIntyre, and not Gunther, carry the World Heavyweight Championship into WrestleMania 41?

Former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci is not a fan of Gunther's current reign as World Heavyweight Champion. Carlucci believes WWE can do well with Drew McIntyre taking it from here all the way to The Show of Shows in April 2025.

Speaking on his podcast Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word, Tommy Carlucci claimed that Drew McIntyre is a better fit to represent World Wrestling Entertainment during this important time as its champion. He feels that the Scot can end up dethroning The Ring General soon:

"I'd like to see it be Drew and Drew win the title and carry that title all the way to WrestleMania. Promoting Drew would be a 100% better [than Gunther]. He would carry the title better. His charisma, the way he works in the ring, he could do high-fly, he can ground-and-pound, he's much younger [McIntyre is two years older than Gunther] and looks better than Gunther. That's what I wanna see," he said.

On WrestleMania Sunday in April this year, Drew McIntyre won the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins in the opening contest. However, five minutes later, Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and stole the belt from him after an attack McIntyre sustained at the hands of CM Punk.
