WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has been working hard to take the pro wrestling company to new heights. While he is making great use of the talent pool of the Stamford-based promotion, he is also utilizing several external stars to create big moments. Interestingly, the June 29, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown saw one such segment.
New York Knicks’ star guard Jalen Brunson attended the live show of WWE in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Everyone thought that Brunson had come to enjoy some quality pro wrestling. However, little did people know that he would also be a part of it. In fact, nobody expected that he would go against his NBA rival and Indiana Pacers’ star, Tyrese Haliburton.
Both players pulled off a great segment where they almost came to blows with each other before the matter de-escalated. Triple H then posted a tweet on X/Twitter later in the night where he shared an image with Jalen Brunson and thanked him for his contribution to the segment.
Logan Paul had brought Tyrese Haliburton alongside him to infuriate the NYC crowd. While he did earn heel points with the WWE Universe, he lost his MITB qualifier match as LA Knight secured the win. Following this, just when Haliburton and Paul were about to attack Knight with brass knucks, Jalen Brunson came in with a steel chair for the save.
The United States Champ and the Indiana Pacers star left the ring and avoided a confrontation. While no blows were exchanged in this confrontation, it wasn’t a very peaceful day for WWE. It seems Triple H now has a very big problem with security on his hands.
What will Triple H and Nick Aldis do about the failed security measures at MSG?
The MSG show of SmackDown kicked off with the arrival of The Bloodline, who were attacked by Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens almost instantly as they were still on the entrance ramp. Seeing a big slugfest begin, General Manager Nick Aldis called out security to contain The American Nightmare and his companions. But, the trio neutralized the security and hit many personnel with their signature moves and were later escorted out by the NYPD.
Later in the night, the final segment of the show saw Solo Sikoa officially declaring himself the new Tribal Chief. But, while his new Bloodline brothers acknowledged him, The Wiseman Paul Heyman did not. This resulted in the faction assaulting the WWE Hall of Famer, and there was no security available to help him. It would be interesting to see how Triple H and Nick Aldis sort this mess on the blue brand.
