EC3 worked for WWE between 2009 and 2013 before returning for another spell with the company between 2018 and 2020. The former NXT talent recently gave his take on reports that The Lucha Brothers are on their way to WWE after leaving AEW.

Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix are viewed by many as one of the best tag teams in the world. The Mexican stars have won several titles in recent years, including tag team championships in AEW, Ring of Honor, and TNA.

EC3 said on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws that The Lucha Bros will likely sell a lot of merchandise thanks to their unique presentation:

"If you've done something for a long time and you seek a new challenge, it is a new challenge for them to go to the WWE, so different audience, different scheduling, different presentation. You know, probably has that intrigue. Money's probably really good. A marketing machine because, take wrestling away, they're both charismatic individuals with unique looks and outfits and gear and presentation, so immediately they look cool as action figures. They look cool to kids," he said. [2:16 – 2:49]

EC3 on how WWE might book The Lucha Bros

Vince Russo thinks the former AEW stars are unlikely to be treated differently to WWE's current tag teams.

Agreeing with Russo, EC3 added that the popular duo will likely lose just as many WWE matches as they win:

"I do think Vince is right, though. It'll probably just fall into a 50/50 kind of thing because that's how the booking structure tends to be, unfortunately, and what it takes, really, is probably somebody to step up and stand out, as opposed to just being able to do what they're really good at, which they're really good at what they do. What can propel them to the next level to make them the cornerstone of the tag team division? That's an answer I don't have," he said. [2:55 – 3:20]

RAW's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are the current World Tag Team Champions, while SmackDown's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa are the WWE Tag Team Champions. The NXT tag titles are held by Axiom and Nathan Frazer.
