Vince Russo was WWE's head writer in the late 1990s when RAW often drew its highest television ratings. The one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion recently gave his thoughts on how The Lucha Brothers might fare in WWE.
Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix are reportedly heading to WWE after their five-year AEW stint ended. The Mexican duo are widely viewed as one of the world's best tag teams. They have held titles in several companies, including AAA, AEW, MLW, PWG, ROH, and TNA.
Russo appeared on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws with host Dr. Chris Featherstone and former WWE star EC3. The veteran writer said he expects The Lucha Bros to only win half of their matches like many other tag teams:
"I saw them over at AEW for a while," Russo stated. "Bro, they're gonna be another tag team. I mean, what are they gonna do? They're gonna be another 50/50 tag team with all the other 50/50 tag teams." [0:27 – 0:38]

While new WWE signings usually begin in the NXT developmental system, Vince Russo thinks The Lucha Bros are destined for the main roster immediately:
"Those guys have been around for a while, haven't they? I couldn't imagine them bringing them through NXT. I mean, bro, don't they need star power in that tag team division?" [0:43 – 0:56]

How Vince Russo would present The Lucha Brothers
Wrestling fans outside WWE will likely be familiar with The Lucha Bros' work in recent years. However, some WWE viewers might not know much about the tag team's impressive in-ring skills and history in the industry.
Vince Russo thinks WWE should air vignettes about Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix for several weeks to promote their debut:
"Please, man, just take somebody and give them six to eight weeks of vignettes before you ever see them. Let's just see what happens, and that's what I would do with these guys, man, make them really, really special before they get there. I just wish, man, they would go back to that exercise with somebody. Let's just see if that still works." [4:40 – 5:06]
On July 17, The Lucha Bros won their last AEW match as a tag team against Private Party on Rampage. Three days later, Fenix beat Tony Nese on Collision in what turned out to be his last AEW bout.
