Two-time champ could be the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion, claims Bill Apter (Exclusive)

Wrestling journalist and Sportskeeda senior editor Bill Apter recently named his pick to be the first WWE Women's United States Champion. The new title was revealed this week on SmackDown.

During the show, GM Nick Aldis showed up in a backstage segment and made the groundbreaking announcement. He unveiled the shiny new title and claimed this was the opportunity for the women to step up their game and take the division to newer heights.

This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Apter mentioned that Jade Cargill would be a good choice as the first champion. He mentioned the win could set up the 32-year-old star in her singles career. The Hall of Fame journalist also pointed out that it could lead to a blockbuster feud between Cargill and her partner Bianca Belair.

"I've got my pick already. I've already picked out who is going to win this." Apter continued, "Jade Cargill is going to be the first United States Champion. They need someone, Giulia is a good choice, but she's not star power. They need somebody with star power here. This is the way to elevate Jade Cargill in the singles division and also possibly a route for her to go and feud with Bianca." [2:05 onwards]

Jade has been in the WWE for a little over a year and is already a prominent feature of the Women's roster. She is a two-time Women's Tag Team Champion and is currently holding the title with her teammate, Belair.

It will be interesting to see which star gets the honor of becoming the first-ever WWE Women's United States Champion.
