Randy Orton was unable to move after taking a banned move during WWE SmackDown tonight. He also talked about how he could not feel anything while groaning and being taken away. Now, there's an unfortunate update surrounding him.
Kevin Owens attacked Orton during WWE SmackDown after the two had a confrontation. Unfortunately, KO went too far and used a move that the company has banned for years—the piledriver. Orton landed on his neck and could not move, and the storyline saw him being taken away on a stretcher to an ambulance.
Later on WWE SmackDown, Michael Cole updated fans, letting them know that Randy Orton's injury was serious and that he was being evaluated for an "undisclosed cervical injury." He said Orton would be further assessed and asked fans to stay tuned to WWE social media for further updates.
Given Orton's previous back injury, it appears WWE is using it temporarily to keep him off the show.
Scott Stanford and Megan Morant also sent Randy Orton's family their best wishes on behalf of WWE on SmackDown LowDown, making it clear that they hoped he had a swift recovery and would be back wrestling again.
