Sami Zayn faced Drew McIntyre on the latest episode of WWE RAW in a rematch from their bout at Saturday Night's Main Event a few weeks ago, where McIntyre had emerged victorious.
In the main event of the night, McIntyre started strong with his powerful strikes. However, Zayn quickly turned the tide with a burst of offense in the corner, forcing McIntyre to retreat to the floor.
At one point, Zayn hit the Scottish Warrior with an impressive tornado DDT off the ropes, earning a nearfall. Drew McIntyre rolled to the floor again but regained control this time by using the steel steps to his advantage.
In the match's closing stages, Zayn connected with an exploder suplex and looked poised to hit the Helluva Kick. However, McIntyre countered with a sudden and devastating Claymore, securing the hard-fought victory.
This loss means Zayn remains winless against McIntyre in singles matches. Additionally, he continues his streak of failing to defeat former World Champions in televised WWE matches since February of this year when he beat Finn Balor.
While Zayn defeated Gunther at WrestleMania 40, The Ring General had not yet claimed a world title. It will be interesting to see how Sami Zayn bounces back from these back-to-back defeats to Drew McIntyre.
