There has been an update in regards to WWE legend Goldberg and his retirement match. The veteran has not wrestled a match since his loss to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022 in Saudi Arabia.
Goldberg has had a remarkable career in professional wrestling but was never given a proper sendoff. It has been hinted that the former champion wants to have a retirement match but that may no longer be the case.
Speaking on 93.7 The Ticket, the 57-year-old has shared that his retirement plans have been put on the back burner as he focuses on being a father and other projects. Goldberg's son, Gage, will be starting his college football career at the University of Colorado Boulder this year.
"I'll be perfectly honest with you. I've kind of put that on the back burner. Right now, I've segued into dad, first and foremost, and husband, and car host. I'm just having fun at my garage. So, I really don't have a lot of time right now to dedicate to prepping for a retirement match," he said. [H/T: Ringside News]
Goldberg takes shot at former WWE CEO Vince McMahon
Wrestling icon Goldberg has claimed that Vince McMahon never held up his end of the bargain for a retirement match after he put over Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022.
In an interview with Steven & Captain Evil, the WCW legend stated that he was promised a retirement match by Vince McMahon. However, the 78-year-old never delivered on his word and gave him a proper sendoff in WWE.
"As a performer, I was 56 years old. As a human being, you're conscientious about how you look in a bathing suit, especially two months prior to being in that bathing suit, you couldn't work out because you had COVID. I put myself in a horribly s****y situation to get what I wanted, but to satiate him and give him what he wanted. Problem is, he never held up his bargain. Vince is a piece of s*** as far as I'm concerned," he said. [H/T: Fightful]
Goldberg has created countless memories for many fans over the years in the industry. Only time will tell if he ever gets the opportunity to return to WWE to wrap up his career with a final match.
