Cody Rhodes does not appear to enjoy the night after a premium live event in WWE. Last time it was the RAW after WrestleMania, where he suffered a vicious beatdown by Brock Lesnar. This time, it's the RAW after Backlash when he was assaulted and absolutely demolished by The Beast Incarnate yet again.

Now, there appears to be an update about his situation from his appearance on RAW after the attack.

The star was taking part in the Triple Threat Match to head into the semi-finals for the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Unfortunately, just when it looked like he might come away with the win, he was attacked by Brock Lesnar.

The Beast demolished him and put him through a table as well. He then held the head of the knocked-out American Nightmare while demanding he look in his eyes and challenged him to a match at Night of Champions.

The star was clearly feeling it later on in the night, as he was seen icing his ribs backstage while Adam Pearce, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn looked on. He was clearly hurt, and his ribs seemed to be damaged.

He was later interviewed backstage, where he was seen to be disappointed about losing out on the World Heavyweight Championship opportunity. He said that Lesnar had attacked him for no reason for the second time and then said that he felt he knew the reason.

Cody Rhodes claimed Lesnar was angry that The Beast Incarnate's main event spot in WWE was no longer guaranteed now that Rhodes was there, and so he was taking revenge. He also accepted the match.

If that is indeed the case, this feud might continue for a while.
