WWE Superstar Kevin Owens turned his back on Cody Rhodes and launched an attack in the parking lot at Bad Blood 2024, and fans were eagerly waiting to listen to his side of the story. This week on SmackDown, the Women’s Tag Team Championship was on the line, with challengers Lash Legend and Jakarta Jackson making their way in. The Prizefighter then entered the ring despite his suspension.
On the latest episode of RAW, Cody Rhodes was asked about Owens’s backstabbing, to which The American Nightmare said he is not going to react to anything that happened and does not want to speculate. He was seemingly waiting for The Prizefighter to tell his part of the story.
Kevin Owens ran inside the ring to address his part of the story, but before he could say anything, his mic was cut. He seized Corey Graves's microphone and expressed that it wasn’t him who turned on Cody Rhodes but rather The American Nightmare who turned on him.
The reasons given by The Prizefighter enraged the Undisputed WWE Champion, and he came storming down the ramp before Nick Aldis and management stopped him. USA Network commented under the post, pointing out that Rhodes was not happy with the justification.

“Cody (Rhodes) wasn’t gonna take that,” USA Network commented.
Later on the show, we saw Kevin Owens turning his back on tag team partner Randy Orton. This attack on The Viper could once again land The Prizefighter in trouble, with management doubling his fine and extending his suspension.
Massive match set for Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel 2024
Although Cody Rhodes is heartbroken and seeks revenge on Kevin Owens, he needs to focus on his upcoming champion-vs-champion match at WWE Crown Jewel 2024. At Bad Blood 2024, Triple H announced that the major champions of both brands would collide in a title-vs-title clash in Saudi Arabia, and the winner of the match would be declared the new Crown Jewel Champion.
Cody Rhodes and Gunther will fight for the prize at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh. However, it is worth watching whether Kevin Owens plays a role in this important bout. On the other hand, Liv Morgan and Nia Jax will lock horns for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.
It remains to be seen how the Kevin-Cody saga will unfold in the coming weeks and in which direction the Triple H-led creatives will book this storyline.
