An ex-WWE star has addressed John Cena and Randy Orton's alleged role in his firing from the promotion back in 2009. The star, Mr. Kennedy, claimed responsibility for his release.

Mr. Kennedy was one of the hottest acts in World Wrestling Entertainment back in the mid-to-late 2000s. His run in the company came to a sudden end in 2009, leaving fans shocked.

Over the years, there have been talks and speculation about John Cena and Randy Orton being responsible for Kennedy's release. In a new interview with Ten Count Media, Kennedy opened up about the same and had the following to say:

"To be honest with you, I have no idea. I don’t know if any of that’s true. It doesn’t really matter to me. Even if that was true, it’s just part of my history. I can either complain about it and whine about it, or I can just move forward. Of course, ultimately, I am the one responsible for getting myself fired. Even if those guys did some behind-the-scenes talking or whatever, I was in enough of a situation where Vince would listen to that. If that was, in fact, the case—if that was the straw that broke the camel’s back—I still didn’t do myself any favors while I was there." (H/T RSN)

Mr. Kennedy's run in WWE

Kennedy's run in the global wrestling giant lasted about four years between 2005-09. His biggest moment in the promotion came at WWE WrestleMania 23 in 2007, where he won an Eight-Man Money In The Bank Ladder match. The match consisted of several in-ring greats like CM Punk, Edge, and Randy Orton.

Kennedy lost the briefcase to Edge mere weeks later. Following his release, Kennedy did quite well for himself in TNA Wrestling. He won the TNA World Heavyweight title twice during his six-year run in the promotion.
