While Vince McMahon's life was shown quite chronologically in the Netflix docuseries titled Mr. McMahon, a veteran has claimed that one aspect was misrepresented. According to legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter, Mr. McMahon and his father's relationship did not quite reach a happy conclusion.
In the Netflix docuseries, Vince McMahon was shown to be ruthless when it came to business, aggressively expanding WWE by taking over other territories. This led to his father, Vince McMahon Sr., warning him about the balance between other businessmen being affected. According to the show, however, Mr. McMahon and his father made amends afterward near the latter's end of life.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted podcast, veteran journalist Bill Apter disagreed with what was shown in the docuseries. He stated:
"One thing that Tony Atlas said and a lot of other wrestlers said to me, was that Vince's father, Vince Jr.'s father, died, I am gonna use the word, angry with him. Because of what went on with the, putting a lot of his friends out of business. Didn't die, I am gonna use the word, he didn't die pi*sed at him due to anything personally, but I was told by these people and I don't know how true it was, was that he died pi*sed at him (Vince McMahon) in terms of business."
