Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently spoke about The Bloodline, which consists of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, losing the WWE Tag Team Championship this past week on SmackDown. They were defeated by The Motor City Machine Guns in an exhilarating matchup.
The Bloodline goaded The Motor City Machine Guns into a title match just after they had defeated DIY to become the number-one contenders. However, the plan backfired as Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso showed up to ensure that Solo and Jacob Fatu did not interfere. With the referee down, Jey Uso also showed up and attacked the Tongans, helping Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
During a Q&A segment this week, Apter mentioned that it was surprising that WWE could give the titles to The Motor City Machine Guns so early in their career. He felt that the move was a bit rushed and Triple H could have done a bit more to establish the duo before putting the tag team titles on them.
"Well, my thoughts are I'm still kinda like surprised that after three or four shots in WWE, The Motor City Machine Guns have got the belts already. They keep pounding, pounding about that they were the first guys that did this kind of style and this and that they're world stars. I don't know if that's really stuck at this point," Bill Apter said. [From 6:40 onwards]
After the events that transpired during the latest episode of RAW, the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline is now scheduled to face Roman Reigns and The Usos in a Six-Man Tag Team Match at the Crown Jewel 2024 Premium Live Event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
