WWE legend John Cena's decision to retire in 2025 has caused much speculation about his final opponent. However, a veteran believes that booking his last match will be very difficult, considering how the creative department has handled things so far.
The veteran in question, Vince Russo, has been quite critical of WWE's booking in recent months. According to him, Cena needs a worthy heel to close out his career with, but the company had not managed to book any of its talents with enough momentum and star power to go up against the Cenation leader. He also cited Bron Breakker as an example of poor booking to prove his point.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, Vince Russo was asked how he would book John Cena's retirement match. He stated:
"There's nobody there that means anything. I mean you would have to give me atleast six months to build a monster heel. And I am talking you know a untouchable heel that goes through everybody for six months until he finally meets a John Cena. I mean, my god, you know Mac, they are making a guy like Bron Breakker go 50-50 in 15 minute matches." [10:10 onwards]

The former WWE Head writer had pitched a gimmick for Bron Breakker
Upon watching how Breakker was not being booked in a way that would make him seem like an unstoppable beast, Vince Russo also talked about how the former NXT Champion should be handled.
Speaking on Legion of RAW, the WWE veteran stated that Bron Breakker needed to squash stars quickly to build up his momentum. He explained:
"He should do a gimmick like five minutes. I'm gonna beat every opponent under five minutes. Like, bro, there's enough people for them to feed him, bro, like that's what they did with Goldberg, that should be the gimmick. I need five minutes to beat them, that's it. These matches with him are just going on way too long, bro." [41:30 - 41:53]
Bron Breakker recently took down Sami Zayn at SummerSlam to win the Intercontinental title. It remains to be seen what is next for him down the line.
