Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Kevin Owens' future in the WWE. The star is one of the most popular babyfaces in the company, currently performing on SmackDown.
Tensions between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens escalated during this week's show. KO initially turned down Cody's assistance in a tag team match against The Bloodline. He opted to team up with Randy Orton and even told The American Nightmare not to interfere in the matchup.
This week on BroDown with Vince Russo, the former writer claimed that WWE was possibly done pushing KO to the top. He stated Owens' time had come and gone, and the star would never win the top prize in the company ever again.
"Trust me, bro, Kevin Owens has had his run, they're not going back to the Kevin Owens well. I promise you that." [From 6:38 onwards]
Some cracks are developing between Owens and Rhodes. The two stars almost came to blows after Cody's interference cost Owens and Randy Orton the match. However, Orton stepped in and calmed down the two men.
It will be interesting to see if these tensions get more serious and result in The Prizefighter turning on his former friend.
