WWE's co-founder Vince McMahon has recently opened up about the after-effects of his controversial storyline on an edition of RAW. The reason behind the story getting dropped was also revealed.
During his time in the company, Vince was part of several over-the-top storylines, including a backstage segment where he sat in his limo and the car exploded on camera, suggesting the 'death' of Vince McMahon.
During episode 6 of the latest Netflix documentary, Mr. McMahon, former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz, revealed that the creative was pitching for Vince to have a midlife crisis, but the latter wanted something completely different, which ultimately led to the above-mentioned storyline.
Vince McMahon then mentioned that his office got multiple calls, asking if he was okay after the company aired that segment on RAW.

"The edit was perfect. And many individuals called, you know, the office, 'Is Vince okay?'" Vince said. [From 5:30 - 5:38]
Brian Gewirtz revealed he heard that former United States President and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump also called Vince McMahon's office to make sure he was okay.
Gewirtz also said that they had to ultimately drop the storyline after news broke of Chris Benoit's sudden demise.
