Vince McMahon had several on-screen affairs, including one with a current top WWE Superstar's wife. A wrestling veteran recently claimed the former chairman was in love with that lady.
After seeing her in a meeting with her then-husband Marc Mero, Vince McMahon was fascinated by Sable and decided to hire her alongside him in 1996. However, she left the company in 1999 and sued the promotion for sexual harassment. After settling the lawsuit outside the court, Sable returned to WWE in 2003, where she had an on-screen affair with McMahon.
The 57-year-old left the company about a year later and married Brock Lesnar. ECW legend Francine recently addressed McMahon's relationship with Sable on her Eyes Up Here podcast, as she reviewed Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries.
While McMahon claimed he did not remember the details of Sable's lawsuit against WWE, Francine claimed he was lying. Although the 52-year-old pointed out that she never heard that the former chairman and Lesnar's current wife had a real-life affair, she was told McMahon was legitimately in love with her.
"I've never heard of them having an affair. Well, Vince doesn't remember about the lawsuit, and he looked a little pi**ed off while talking about it. And it was weird, so to speak. So, I don't know what he was alluding to, but I've always heard that Vince was in love with Sable on a shoot. So, take that for what you will," she said. [19:28-20:46]
Brock Lesnar asked Sable to leave WWE
Sable left Marc Mero after getting involved in a love affair with Brock Lesnar during her second stint in the Stamford-based company. After The Beast Incarnate departed WWE in 2004, he asked his now-wife to follow in his footsteps and end her relationship with the promotion.
In his book, Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival, Lesnar revealed that he gave Sable an ultimatum, demanding her to leave the company for their relationship to continue.
"I wanted to marry Rena [Sable]. However, before I could do this, I needed her to get out of WWE. 'If we want a relationship,' I told her, 'neither one of us can work for that company. We both know the long-term side effects of everything there.' That was my only demand. Nothing else. Just that. And so she left World Wrestling Entertainment. She had worked so hard to get back into that company, and now she was leaving it again, except this time she was giving up her career for me. It couldn’t have been an easy decision," he wrote.
While Sable has stepped away from wrestling, her husband returned to the Stamford-based company in 2012. Although he is still under contract, The Beast Incarnate has been absent from TV since SummerSlam 2023.
