While Vince McMahon is seemingly never returning to WWE, one of his family members may be coming back to the company according to Teddy Long. The Hall of Famer recently talked about the chances of the family member in question, Stephanie McMahon, joining the fray again.
Stephanie had been an integral on-screen character during some of the most important eras of the company, including the Attitude Era. She later transitioned to more backstage management roles, eventually becoming the co-CEO of the company for a short while before she resigned. Currently, she is not officially a part of WWE's administration.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long noted that there was a good chance that Stephanie may be rejoining the company someday.
"I went back to the Draft, and Stephanie was backstage then. She was, come over and talk to everybody, but she was in gorilla just laughing and talking and having a good time with the talent. It's always about this in the wrestling business. You never say never. So we don't know if we will ever see her back again. One day she may pop right back up," Long said. [From 1:00 onwards]
Another WWE veteran also has a similar prediction about Stephanie McMahon
Teddy Long's views are apparently almost identical to those of Vince Russo, the former WWE head writer.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince was asked about whether he thinks Stephanie McMahon will return someday. The veteran stated:
"I do, bro, because you know, the kids are getting older. You know what I am saying, once... I don't know if all their kids are out of the house yet, I doubt it. But once they are out of the house, and her mother duties are over, I think yeah, she's gonna get a little bit bored and wanna get back in the business." [From 03:13 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Stephanie McMahon down the line.
