Netflix's docuseries about former WWE CEO Vince McMahon recently went live on the platform. According to veteran Vince Russo, the timing of the show was carefully planned.
RAW is set to move to Netflix by the start of next year, which will certainly affect viewership and ratings. As such, the company is expected to plan ahead to ensure the numbers only go up. This will entail, among other things, avoiding controversies like the one Vince McMahon is currently in regarding his allegations.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo stated that the docuseries may be intended to make it clear that McMahon was no longer a part of WWE. He said:
"I think what the goal is gonna be by the end of this is 'Vince McMahon is no longer a part of this company, he is no longer involved in it, it is a new day, this is a new beginning...' I think that's what they are going to do. I don't think they are gonna go out of their way to beat him up, but I do believe they're gonna sever all ties. This is a new company, a new start, a new beginning on Netflix. And I think they feel they needed to make that separation before the show starts." [0:57 onwards]

Another former WWE name also agreed with Vince Russo
Vince Russo's theory about the timing and intent of the Netflix docuseries is quite on the point, according to EC3.
When asked to share his own thoughts on the matter on the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, the former WWE star stated:
"I'd tend to agree. I agreed with him on the first thing, where it could be partially portrayed as a hit piece. I think they will take some digs and some shots. I think they will do enough to paint in a negative light and separate it entirely, but I don't think they will go to the depths and recesses of hell that perhaps he deserves or has earned, so I think." [1:39 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen how RAW's transition to Netflix pans out.
