Veteran wrestling personality Eric Bischoff recently discussed Vince McMahon's plans to return to the entertainment business. Mr. McMahon was the former Chairman and CEO of WWE.
A few days ago, PWInsider reported that Vince McMahon was planning to start an entertainment-based company. Several former WWE executives were also reportedly involved in this project.
This week on 83 Weeks, Bischoff questioned why Vince McMahon wanted to return. He felt people would not react positively to his ongoing lawsuit. The former WCW President and WWE Hall of Famer also detailed that several businesses would be hesitant to work with Vince because of the public outcry and backlash they would face.
"When I heard it, my reaction was okay, but why? It's gonna be really tough." He continued, "People's reaction to that type of controversy is not good. I just can't imagine there's gonna be a lot of people that'd be interested in going into business with Vince McMahon at this point because of the backlash it would create." [From 1:23 - 2:06]

Eric Bischoff explained the impact of doing business with Vince McMahon
During the same discussion, Bischoff pointed out that different segments of the industry would act out differently to Mr. McMahon's involvement. He detailed that advertisers would want to remain far from the former WWE CEO. He also mentioned that the audiences would not approve of McMahon until his name was cleared.
"You don't even have to be very astute when it comes to business, public relations or current events to understand that you got advertisers that will react, you got a large part of the audience that's gonna be every vocal. Just a sh*t show of disaster. I can't imagine how that would work. Maybe there's a way or either I'm dead wrong." [From 2:08 - 2:33]
The former WCW President felt the whole endeavor could lead to a lot of chaos and things could spiral out of control very quickly.
