Former WWE head writer Vince Russo feels Vince McMahon could be close to returning to the wrestling business. The 79-year-old made WWE a global phenomenon.
Mr. McMahon stepped away from his role at TKO last January after a lawsuit from former employee Janel Grant accused him of sexual harassment and trafficking. The former WWE Chairman and CEO has been trying to fight these allegations and prove that he is innocent.
This week on Legion of RAW, Russo claimed that McMahon's lawyers were desperately trying to settle the Janel Grant lawsuit. The veteran writer felt that if the two parties settled, Vince would be free to return to the wrestling business once again.
"You saw what's going on with the case now? Vince's lawyers are desperately trying to get this thing to go to arbitration. If this thing goes to arbitration, he's off the hook. He can go into business tomorrow, and he would. If this thing goes to arbitration, that means that they settled. That means all the dirt will never come out, and Vince McMahon will be back in business." [From 8:20 onwards]
Vince McMahon was recently featured in a Netflix docuseries that depicted the rise and fall of wrestling's greatest promoter.
It will be interesting to see if McMahon does return to the wrestling business after this lawsuit.
