Vince McMahon has made several controversial decisions in WWE throughout his career. His wife, Linda McMahon, threatened to divorce him after an angle featuring their daughter, Stephanie McMahon.
The Billion Dollar Princess and Triple H tied the knot in October 2003. In Netflix's new 'Mr. McMahon' documentary, the former WWE Chairman disclosed that he wanted to have the wedding aired on pay-per-view. However, his daughter turned down the suggestion. Meanwhile, he unexpectedly booked himself in an I Quit Match against Stephanie less than a week before the ceremony.
Speaking in the Netflix documentary, the former Women's Champion recalled her mother, Linda, threatening her father, Vince McMahon, to divorce him if he hurt their daughter during the match:
"I remember my mom actually threatening my dad that if I had a black eye or a broken angle for my wedding that she would divorce him on the spot. Needless to say, I had no black eye, I had no broken angle. I may have gotten choked out in the match, but that's different," she said.
Vince McMahon revealed his son's reaction to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's relationship
In Netflix's 'Mr. McMahon' docuseries, Vince McMahon also discussed how his son, Shane, felt about his sister's relationship with Triple H. He revealed that Shane O'Mac opposed their romance.
Nevertheless, the former WWE Chairman felt that his daughter dating and marrying The Game made sense:
"Shane was very much against it. Vehemently so," he said. "Shane came to me and said, 'Dad, you're letting your daughter date a wrestler?' 'Shane, that's who I am. I'm wrestling, I'm performing, I don't know what you mean by that.' And so, to me, it made sense for Stephanie to date and marry someone like Paul," Vince McMahon added.
Shane also commented on the subject in the documentary, stating that it was "storylines 101" not to date the boss' daughter. Despite her brother's concerns, Stephanie has been married to The Game for nearly 21 years. They have three daughters together.
