Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Mustafa Ali's segment on RAW this week.
Ali was in a backstage segment with Byron Saxton on the red brand this week. He claimed it was an overwhelming moment for him to challenge for the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. The former Retribution member spoke about the numerous failures that he had faced along the way. At that moment, Brock Lesnar walked past and told him to "get a life."
On the latest episode of Legion of RAW, Russo claimed that WWE had made a joke out of Ali. He recalled some previous beef with the star and acknowledged that the 37-year-old was making much more money than him. However, the former WWE writer made it clear that the money was not worth being humiliated every week on TV.
"I don't know what to say about the Ali rib anymore. Bro, I'm sure the guy's making a lot more money than me. So, Ali, you can't say that the next time you call me a 'h*e' because I am publicly acknowledging it. I know you're making a lot more money than me. But I don't know that money would be worth being humiliated on television every week."

Russo added:
"I'm just being honest with you, bro. I don't know if that money would be worth it to me because I would say why are you humiliating me on television every week, man." [1:06:25 - 1:07:00]

Mustafa Ali will be in a championship match at WWE Night of Champions
Ever since he was drafted to RAW, WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther has been looking for a worthy challenger.
At Night of Champions 2023, The Ring General will go up against a fitting adversary in the form of Mustafa Ali. The 37-year-old star earned this opportunity when he won a Battle Royal on RAW last week.
Ali has adopted a positive outlook towards his life of late, and it will be interesting to see if this change in attitude will help him against The Ring General in Saudi Arabia.
