Former WWE head writer Vince Russo feels he has been proven correct after Jey Uso lost the Intercontinental Championship on RAW this week. The Yeet Master lost to Bron Breakker after The Bloodline interfered in the matchup.
When Jey won the Intercontinental Championship and got emotional, Russo called him out claiming that the title was just a "prop." This led to WWE legend Rikishi firing shots at the 63-year-old veteran for calling out his son. The Samoan Stinker even warned the former WWE head writer and called him out to a fight.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast, Russo reiterated that it was nothing personal. He pointed out that wrestlers wanted to believe they won titles because they deserved it. However, he clarified that was not the case, and it was all storyline-driven. The 63-year-old veteran called out Rikishi and asked him to explain why Jey lost the title within a few weeks.
"Every single time that title changed hands because of story. Wrestlers want to believe there's more to it than that, and bro, if that makes them feel good, great. I don't have an issue with that. But, don't go on freaking shows calling me out, 'Keep my family's name out of your mouth.' Explain it to me now, bro. They only thought he (Jey Uso) was worthy for two weeks? They only thought he was worthy for holding the belt for two weeks? Now, what's the other side of that argument?" Vince Russo said. [2:58 - 3:32]
