The WWE Attitude Era is widely regarded as one of the most controversial and successful periods in wrestling history. Vince Russo was the main writer responsible for the storylines from that era, and controversy continued following him to WCW and TNA. These days, Russo goes viral for his takes on the different pro wrestling products.

The latest episode of Vice's hit series, Who Killed WCW?, focused on The New Blood. Russo was one of the talents interviewed for the episode, and the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion commented on how he was 80% better than the whole roster when it came to being an on-screen character. He claimed this statement was 1,000% honest while adding that he gets a lot of the hate he does because fans believe he was the character he played on TV.

Shane Helms is a wrestling legend who had successful runs in WCW and WWE. Now working as a WWE Producer, the superstar formerly known as The Hurricane took to X today to respond to Russo's claim on the WCW roster. The former 3 Count member used three emojis and one word to get his point across.

"[rolling on the floor laughing emoji x 3] Horses**t!!" Shane Helms wrote.

The former Vic Venom then commented that he hopes Helms is also doing well. The North Carolina native reiterated his thoughts on the claim, and while Russo quickly wrote back, he did not argue and simply acknowledged the heat he received for the remarks. The 63-year-old said he will let the heat speak for itself.

Helms took a dig at Russo before claiming that he's not a fan of heat that doesn't draw money. Russo agreed and claimed that 50-50 booking doesn't do much for anybody either.

The six-time WWE champion responded and offered his behind-the-scenes insight from a 33-year career, noting that 50-50 booking depends on the situation as a lot of rivalries were built by exchanging wins. The former Informer then ended the exchange with a final thought.

"And, a lot of revenue is generated by Heat," Vince Russo wrote.

Russo has not worked for a wrestling promotion since leaving Aro Lucha in April 2018. He currently hosts weekly shows here on Sportskeeda Wrestling and on his own network, Channel Attitude.
