Vince Russo has been the head creative writer for both WWE and WCW - particularly peaking during the golden age - The Attitude Era. He revealed that during his time in WCW, he was never allowed to fully bring back a legendary faction.
On the latest episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran writer, briefly touched upon the nWo and said that WWE could be making a similar mistake with The Judgment Day. The "mistake" in question was the fact that the nWo angle was overdone and overexposed. In late 1999, the faction reformed with new members Jeff Jarrett, Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall, later adding Scott Steiner and Ron & Don Harris.
The faction, of course, would flop as WCW was approaching its demise. When Dr. Chris Featherstone asked Russo about nWo 2000, the latter revealed that he was never given the opportunity to fully bring back what he felt was an established brand, and that it might have worked if it had been done correctly.
"Bro, it was such a strong brand bro. So there's no doubt in my mind it could have been done correctly and had a second life. But I just never got the opportunity to get there," said Russo. (4:57-5:14)

Vince Russo thinks Drew McIntyre needs to speak to WWE management about a certain character issue
Although the Drew McIntyre-CM Punk storyline has been heavily praised, Vince Russo has some criticism of it.
He believes that it's very uncharacteristic of Drew McIntyre in his current arc to drop the ball and quit. Vince Russo felt that with everything McIntyre has been made to go through by Punk, he would have expected The Scottish Warrior to go after The Second City Saint to exact revenge, instead of quitting.
"That's what's unbelievable. A guy like that with everything he's [Drew McIntyre] gone through. He's going to kill somebody. He ain't taking his ball and going home. He's going to kill somebody. Bro, I got to believe that at this point, I think he's got to have some stroke. That's why he's got to speak up," said Vince Russo. [7:11-7:41]
Russo mentioned that there's the possibility that McIntyre's wife being ill is a valid reason for him not thinking about WWE creatively. We now know that Drew wasn't quitting - he was just taking a new approach to things.
