Reports of a former WWE Superstar joining AEW have been making the rounds lately, fueling speculation about his next move. However, Vince Russo believes that this addition would not benefit All Elite Wrestling significantly.

The superstar in question is Ricochet, who recently parted ways with the Stamford-based promotion. Considering that he is a talented in-ring worker and a high-flyer, his skills are quite a fit for Tony Khan's company. However, the question about whether he will be able to make a bigger splash in AEW than his previous company still remains.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo podcast, Vince Russo stated that Ricochet does not have a notable on-screen character. According to him, The One and Only would help put up a great show at All In but wouldn't make much of a difference in the weekly shows.

"Five to six hundred thousand will watch... I am just talking about the weekly ratings. It's not gonna move the needle whatsoever." [8:23 onwards]

The WWE veteran pitched an angle for Ricochet's potential AEW run

According to Vince Russo, there is a perfect opportunity for Ricochet to get massive heat in AEW.

On the same episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran explained that if The One and Only plays the character of an arrogant star with a superiority complex due to his experience in Triple H's roster, he would immediately get a lot of attention as a heel.

"You know what would be interesting? You wanna get heat on this guy with the AEW crowd? You really wanna get heat on him? I would have him coming over from the WWE and kinda basically say, 'Ya I was in the WWE because I am better than all of you. And the reason why I am here now is 'cause they could no longer afford to pay me.' But really like, really go down the road of he is so much better than all the guys that were never at the WWE," said Russo. [3:32 onwards]

As of now, only time will tell how Ricochet's run in AEW pans out if he decides to join the company.
