Several acts and talents who might have lost shine in the past have risen to prominence under Triple H's regime. The War Raiders made their TV returns on the latest episode of RAW. However, former WWE head writer Vince Russo was not too moved about the tag team getting another shot.
Erik and Ivar have been in WWE for a while and first appeared on the main roster in 2019, winning the RAW Tag Team Championship once since then. Injuries have undoubtedly impacted their run, with both stars having spent time on the sidelines.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast, Vince Russo acknowledged that while injuries were an unfortunate setback for the tag team, the former WWE head writer could not grasp how Erik and Ivar were getting another "restart."
"Oh my god, bro! Against the Alpha Academy, no less! How many restarts? I know the guys were hurt, but how many? This must be their fourth restart," Vince Russo said. [57:54 - 58:07]
Previously known as The Viking Raiders, Erik and Ivar have had their moments on the main roster but seemingly did not get the best creative direction under Vince McMahon.
The well-traveled duo is now back as The War Raiders, and fans of the duo's NXT work might surely love the change. However, Vince Russo could not understand what their name meant:
"What's a War Raider, bro? There is a war going on, and we're going to raid a war? What are we doing here?" [58:20 - 58:26]
