Wade Barrett wrapped up his commentary run on the December 30, 2024, episode of WWE RAW. He has now taken to his social media handle to address his immediate future. It looks like he will be involved in a backstage capacity.
Triple H shuffled the commentary team as RAW prepares to move to Netflix starting January 6, 2025. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee will return to the red brand to call the show, replacing Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore, respectively.
With Joe Tessitore moving to SmackDown to work alongside Corey Graves, fans have been eager to know about the plans for Wade Barrett.
Earlier today, the former Nexus leader took to his Instagram handle to announce that he will be one of the hosts alongside Big E and Joe Tessitore for the post-show immediately following the RAW on Netflix premiere next week.
"Join me, @joetess & @wwebige for an UPGRADED post-show IMMEDIATELY following the #WWERaw debut on Netflix this Monday! One of the biggest shows in @wwe history will require a major debrief. Catch us live on the Netflix YouTube channel and all WWE social platforms as soon as Raw ends 👊🏻."

Is Wade Barrett returning to the WWE in-ring competition?
Wade Barrett hasn't laced up his wrestling boots in almost nine years. That could change in 2025 as rumors suggest that he is penciled in to feud with Drew McIntyre sometime soon.
In an interview with PWMania, the 44-year-old British star confirmed his interest in facing the Scotsman.
"Yeah, I think we all know the answer to that. Absolutely it would be Drew McIntyre. He’s someone I go way back with and very close friends with the guy over the years. He did talk a little smack to me a few weeks ago on RAW and I haven’t forgotten about that. I’m not going to make a major deal of it, but he’s lucky he stopped where he did."
A potential storyline between the two friends was teased a few months ago when Drew McIntyre was feuding with CM Punk. However, the angle didn't lead to anything constructive in the ring.
With WrestleMania 41 fast approaching, McIntyre vs. Barrett could be one of the marquee matchups for The Show of Shows.
