A five-time WWE champion returned to NXT after 935 days. While she has several records to her name in the developmental brand, the star ended up botching a dangerous move. However, IYO SKY seemingly avoided a very serious injury despite this error.

IYO SKY has secured both singles and doubles glory in the developmental and main roster territories. This week, the former NXT and WWE Women’s Champion faced The Meta-Four’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson alongside Kairi Sane. While SKY had fought her last NXT match on April 2, 2022, Sane last fought her last developmental match on March 5, 2024.

The match saw Damage CTRL holding its ground despite having a disadvantage in size and strength against The Meta-Four members. While the match was midway, Sane failed to make a successful tag to her partner. This, in turn, resulted in SKY taking a fall from the top rope.

However, the crowd saw The Genius of The SKY roll onto the canvas and eliminate any damage. Moreover, she recovered quickly and landed a big punch on her opponent’s chin to continue her momentum.

The former WWE Women’s Champion continued to blaze through this double botch and performed brilliantly. However, she failed to win the match for her team because of interference by Piper Niven and Chelsea Green.

While the duo from WWE SmackDown had a bone to pick with The Meta-Four, they also attacked Damage CTRL. With this, the recently turned babyface faction has a score to settle with another tag team. It would be interesting to see what lies ahead for SKY and Sane.
