Watch: CM Punk pays tribute to Big E at recent WWE show

The WWE Universe and the majority of the company's superstars have continued to support and respect Big E while he recovers from what may be a career-ending injury. After the multi-time champion was disrespected by his longtime friends on RAW, certain stars turned up the tributes, including CM Punk, who just got physical revenge on The New Day for how they treated Big E.

The New Day recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, but the upbeat RAW segment ended with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turning on Big E, essentially booting the former NXT Champion from the group. The shocking heel turn led to immense fan and backstage heat against Kingston and Woods, and more support for the former Master of the Five Count. Rey Mysterio is among the superstars who have called Kofi and Xavier out backstage for how they treated Big E.

The Voice of the Voiceless and The Ultimate Underdog teamed up to face The New Day at Saturday's non-televised WWE live event at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. Punk and Mysterio defeated Kingston and Woods in a fast-paced tag team bout that featured tributes to Big E. WWE shared the following clip of Punk running wild on Kofi and Xavier, then shaking the ropes like The Ultimate Warrior.

"It was, in fact, clobberin' time! [alarm clock emoji] [fire emoji]," wrote WWE with the video below.

Punk defeated Big E in their only singles bouts, once on RAW in September 2013, then on SmackDown two weeks later. That same month, Punk and Big E teamed up to defeat Ryback and Curtis Axel on RAW, and then two months later, they teamed with John Cena to defeat The Shield by DQ.

CM Punk set for tonight's WWE RAW

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that CM Punk and Seth Rollins will meet face-to-face on tonight's live RAW from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. The final RAW of 2024 will also serve as the go-home show to next week's RAW Netflix premiere.

Punk and Rollins were previously confirmed to appear on tonight's RAW as officials teased that both men would be under the same roof tonight. It was announced this afternoon that Punk and Rollins will meet face-to-face as the final hype for next week's big singles match between the two.

Tonight's RAW will also feature Chad Gable vs. Otis, Pete Dunne vs. R-Truth, plus The War Raiders and Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio. Dakota Kai will also battle Zoey Stark while IYO SKY faces Lyra Valkyria to determine the finals to crown the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion next week.
