This week on SmackDown tension escalated between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, hinting at a potential feud in the coming weeks. In the main event, The Bloodline once again picked a victory over Owens and Orton.
After rejecting Rhodes' idea of having a Six-Man Tag Team action in the main event, Kevin Owens pitched a tag team bout alongside Randy Orton against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu instead. Following the match, KO and Cody had a brief altercation before Orton calmed things down. The American Nightmare was in action after SmackDown went off-air, where he defeated Austin Theory in a dark match.
The former AEW EVP addressed the crowd following his match, and soon he noticed a baby near the front row. Cody interacted with the mother and in a heartwarming moment, the Undisputed WWE Champion ended up holding the toddler in his arms.
"How old is that baby, three months? is the baby boy here from Oklahoma City? oh, he is a Kansas City baby. We do lots of things but tonight, everybody that’s our baby," Rhodes said.
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will team at Bad Blood 2024
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns agreed to join forces to take on The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The faction has been terrorizing the whole roster for months now and Rhodes is looking to end the stable once in for all.
Last week on the blue brand, WWE showcased a high-budget cinematic segment between the Original Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare, where they met at Georgia Tech's football field to sort out their differences. The former rivals agreed to have each other’s back at the premium live event in Atlanta.
Many on the SmackDown roster are unhappy with Cody Rhodes' decision to team up with Roman Reigns, as the Head of the Table made a lot of enemies in the last few years. Kevin Owens, who has been fighting against The Bloodline for over four years, is clearly frustrated with the champion. Meanwhile, Randy Orton said he has no problems with Cody teaming up with Reigns unless Rhodes makes it one.
It will be interesting to see if Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns can defeat The Bloodline at Bad Blood next weekend.
