When Shinsuke Nakamura signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2016, the anticipation peaked among those who kept an eye on the professional wrestling independent scene. Nakamura was already an international star, having been the youngest IWGP Heavyweight Champion in New Japan Pro-Wrestling at 23 years of age. He went on to win the belt two more times.

Nakamura won the Royal Rumble two years after signing with WWE but failed to capture the most prized possession in the company at WrestleMania. Unfortunately for him, things went south after that, despite a strong start. He never broke the proverbial glass ceiling as a headliner.

Taking to X, WWE CCO Triple H shared behind-the-scenes footage of Shinsuke Nakamura's entrance at Survivor Series: WarGames. At the event, The Artist defeated US Champion LA Knight to win the belt for a third time in the Stamford-based promotion:

"@ShinsukeN… Artist. King. Samurai," Triple H captioned his post.

Fans drowned out a popular wrestler with 'She's a racist' chants recently

It appears Triple H is slowly attempting to reinvent The Wayward Samurai, who is also booked to face Ulka Sasaki at the Pro Wrestling NOAH "The New Year" event on January 1, 2025.

Dutch Mantell comments on Shinsuke Nakamura's triumph over LA Knight

Shinsuke Nakamura made his first appearance on SmackDown since a few weeks ago since getting drafted in April 2024. Right of the gate, he targetted LA Knight and has gained the upperhand throughout their rivalry thus far.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell discussed the US Title program. While Mantell is not a fan of it, as he believes they do not have in-ring chemistry, the veteran noted that Nakamura winning the belt was the only option at Survivor Series last Saturday:

"That was the only thing they could have done with LA Knight and Nakamura. Because hey if he (LA Knight) would have won, what for LA Knight then? Now he has gotta have another opponent. And Nakamura, he lost, what's for him? Where he gotta go? They did it right, and now let's see where it leads."

Last Friday, one night before Survivor Series, LA Knight attempted to sneak attack The Artist. However, the latter saw it coming and spit mist on his face. How The Megastar retaliates tonight on SmackDown bears watching.
