The Shield consisted of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. After debuting in 2012, the faction quickly rose to stardom and became one of the hottest groups in professional wrestling. Two years later, the group split after Seth Rollins' betrayal but had numerous reunions over the years.

After members of The Shield went their separate paths, Reigns carved his own path to stardom as a singles star. In 2020-21, he aligned with Paul Heyman and formed The Bloodline. Fast forward to 2024, The Tribal Chief is on hiatus from weekly television after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship and The Bloodline has been taken over by Solo Sikoa.
On WWE SmackDown, Sikoa and his stablemates, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, hit The Shield's triple powerbomb on Kevin Owens after a six-man tag team match tonight. Tonga and Loa were recruited by Sikoa. Tonga was declared the new Right Hand Man of the group and Loa was anointed into the faction by the standby Tribal Chief.
