Vince McMahon once spent $30,000 on The Boogeyman's worms, according to former WWE employee
The Boogeyman was involved in a feud with JBL during his early days in WWE. In one memorable segment, he terrified JBL by making earthworms rain down on the former Grand Slam Champion.
Former WWE creative team member Court Bauer shared an interesting story about that segment. According to Bauer, an assistant informed Vince McMahon that the worms used for the scene had cost $30,000. Vince was reportedly shocked and asked how worms could cost that much. The assistant explained that regular worms weren’t available, so they had to purchase organic ones. Bauer revealed that Vince was so stunned by this revelation that he apparently ended up firing the assistant while the show continued, with The Boogeyman’s antics playing out as planned.
"'How much was it?'. He goes, 'Well sir, that was $30,000', and Vince's jaw drops. He was like, '$30,000 for worms?'. 'Well they were out of normal worms so we had to go organic', and he just looked shocked. He's like, I can't believe we just blew $30,000 and there's John Layfield rolling in the worms and he's crying and everyone's laughing but, it's like, he was shocked and I think that assistant was fired soon thereafter but the show went on," he said.
With Royal Rumble 2025 just a couple of months away, it will be intriguing to see if The Boogeyman makes a surprise appearance in the Men’s Rumble Match.
