Over the past few years, Roman Reigns has turned out to be the major attraction in WWE, with most of the company's decisions involving him in some form or fashion. One decision in 2022, that involved Reigns, has not gone down well with a former Universal Champion.
The main event of WrestleMania 38 featured Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar in a marquee match, for the Universal Championship as well as the WWE Championship. The winner, Reigns, was then crowned the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, leaving the Stamford-based company with just one World title. However, Seth Rollins has now spoken out about the unification of the world titles.
During a recent edition of INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the former Universal Champion stated that the decision ended up "hurting" the entire WWE roster, given there was not much to compete for. Rollins also stated that they were in a "garbage place" due to the situation.
"We were in such a garbage place when they unified the titles. It was like there was such a low ceiling for everybody. We didn't have the two titles; we didn't have a way of getting the titles separated. It was like we could not get that done. There were just so many—every suggestion just had a wall in front of it. It just couldn't get done. It was hurting the rest of the roster to not have anything to go for," stated Seth Rollins. [1:05:59 onwards]
